SUNRISE, FL – Leafs fans, take a deep breath.

Yes, Game 4 wasn’t pretty. Yes, the Panthers played their best game of the series. But no — this series is far from over.

Let’s call it what it was: a missed opportunity. The Leafs, after seizing a 2-0 series lead, now find themselves heading back to Scotiabank Arena with the series tied at 2-2.

But don’t lose sight of the big picture — the Leafs still hold home ice, the series is now a best-of-3, and this team has shown all season they can respond when their backs are against the wall.

Leafs Beat Themselves in Game 4 — Now They Know What Needs Fixing

It wasn’t the Panthers’ brilliance alone that handed Toronto the 2-0 defeat in Game 4. As Matthew Knies bluntly put it:

“We took dumb penalties. It was all our doing.”

Toronto spent too much time killing penalties, disrupting their flow and letting Florida dictate the pace. But discipline is correctable — and the Leafs have proven they can play with pace, pressure, and control when they stay out of the box.

Woll’s Heroics Should Give Leafs Fans Hope

If there’s a silver lining from Sunday night’s loss, it’s Joseph Woll. The young goalie was simply sensational, stopping 35 of 37 shots, and keeping his team within a goal until late in the third.

“It’s going to go back and forth,” Woll said. “We knew that. It’s on us now to swing the momentum back.”

And with the Leafs returning to the electric atmosphere of Scotiabank Arena, it’s the perfect setting for Woll to shine again — and for the Leafs to play Leafs hockey.

Matthews and the Offense Need to Break Through — And They Will

Let’s not sugarcoat it — Auston Matthews hasn’t found the back of the net yet this series. But this is a player who’s played through injury, stepped up in key moments all season, and knows how to flip a series on one shot.

“The chances have been there,” Matthews said. “I just have to bear down.”

Game 5 on home ice? There’s no better time for the captain to step up and tilt the ice Toronto’s way.

Back Home, Back to Basics, Back to Leafs Hockey

Look, Leafs fans, we’ve seen this story before. But we’ve also seen this 2025 edition of the Maple Leafs answer the critics time and time again.

Toronto’s Game 4 stumble doesn’t erase their Game 1 and 2 dominance. This is still their series to grab — if they clean up the discipline, speed up puck movement, and let their stars shine.

Wednesday night, under the lights at Scotiabank Arena, with the crowd behind them?
Bet on the Leafs to bring their best. Bet on the Leafs to show the hockey world they’re built different this time around.

Leafs Nation, it’s time to get loud. Game 5 is waiting.
