Investigators believe incident was not random; public urged to assist
THUNDER BAY – Local Crime – The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting public assistance as they investigate an alleged assault involving a female youth that took place in the city’s south core last week.
Police say the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9, in the area of Miles Street East and Harold Street.
The youth victim sustained minor injuries and was assessed at the scene. Investigators currently believe the assault was not a random act, suggesting the individuals involved may have known each other.
Authorities are now appealing directly to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or intervened during the incident, to come forward.
“Community members play a key role in helping us complete our investigations,” said a spokesperson for the Thunder Bay Police Service. “Even small details can assist in bringing clarity and accountability.”
