Teen Girl Stabbed in Winnipeg Assault, Two Youths Arrested

WINNIPEG – CRIME REPORTThe Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) is investigating a violent assault that left a 14-year-old girl hospitalized after she was stabbed multiple times in Winnipeg’s Westdale neighbourhood.

The incident occurred on May 15, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., when officers responded to a residence on the first 100 block of Westgrove Way following reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they located a 14-year-old female suffering from multiple upper-body injuries. Emergency responders, including paramedics, provided immediate life-saving medical aid using a chest seal at the scene.

The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition, but her condition was later upgraded to stable.

Assault Stems from Earlier Argument

According to the WPS Major Crimes Unit, which is now leading the investigation, the altercation began earlier that day when the victim encountered two other female youths outside a retail business in the 6600 block of Robin Boulevard.

A verbal dispute escalated, leading to a physical assault, during which the victim was stabbed multiple times with a sharp-edged weapon. The two suspects then fled the scene.

Suspects Arrested in Separate Incidents

By 7:00 p.m., officers located and arrested one female youth suspect at a residence in the 700 block of Dale Boulevard without incident.

The second suspect turned herself in at Winnipeg Police Headquarters the following evening (May 16) at approximately 8:30 p.m., where she was also arrested without incident.

Police confirm that the victim and both suspects are known to each other.

Charges Laid

  • A 14-year-old female from Winnipeg is charged with Assault

  • A 15-year-old female from Winnipeg is charged with Assault with a Weapon

Both youths were released on Undertakings, in accordance with provisions under the Criminal Code.
