Emergency Response in Early Hours of May 15

GREENSTONE – A sudden death is under active investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) following an emergency call in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 15, 2025. At approximately 12:45 a.m., Greenstone OPP officers and Superior North EMS responded to a report of a medical emergency. One individual was transported to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

Post-Mortem Scheduled in Toronto
To determine the cause of death, a post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS) in Toronto.

Major Crime Unit Leads Investigation
The North West Region OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, is leading the ongoing investigation. They are working in close coordination with the Office of the Chief Coroner and OFPS, with support from the OPP’s Forensic Identification Services.
