In May, a charity auction was held at the Valerii Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium with the goal of raising funds for the construction of a football field and an inclusive children’s playground in Zhytomyr. The main focus was the needs of orphans living in the local Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Palliative Care.
The auction was organized by FC Dynamo, the National Team of Journalists of Ukraine, and the News Center agency with the support of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation. The new playground will enable not only the residents of the institution but also thousands of children from the region to engage in sports. It is expected that the future facility will become an important part of the region’s social infrastructure.
Participation of philanthropists and sports lots
As part of the project, unique sports-related auction lots were organized, along with an online broadcast for patrons who could not attend the event in person.
Among the lots were jerseys signed by players of the Ukrainian national team, balls autographed by stars, gloves from boxing champions, and personal belongings of famous athletes. All these items had symbolic value and helped draw attention to the purpose of the event.
“We supported this initiative because we believe that every child in Ukraine has the right to development, support, and new opportunities,” commented Andrii Matiukha.
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation continues to support socially significant projects. Its areas of focus include the development of sports, education, medicine, assistance to veterans, and strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. These initiatives have become a part of the long-term support for Ukrainian communities.
